About Kenilworth:
Kenilworth is located between the inner-city Constantia winelands and the incredible and expansive Kirstenbosch Gardens. It is a leafy, warm and safe suburb close to many activities. Visiting Kenilworth is easy by road or rail. There is a convenient tourist pass rail ticket that allows you to hop on and off at any of the stations from the City centre to Simon’s Town.
The apple of the Kenilworth’s eye is the award winning Kenilworth race course. It is famous for the annual J&B Met race day of held each January. The event sees some 57 000 people turn out for a day of high fashion, big stake betting and serious socializing. This is the oldest racecourse in the country, which now has three A Grade races for the J&B, and has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Kenilworth is home to the bargain hunters paradise of Access Park which houses over 100 factory shops and is certainly a must see for excellent quality bargains. Close by is the suburb of Claremont which is home to Cavendish Square, a shoppers paradise.
Not too far away is also the well known Newlands Stadium, home to our local rugby and cricket players. It’s also been known to host some English League teams playing some of our local boys in fund raisers or friendly matches.
